Seattle, Washington: Members of the Royal Life Guard appear during the grand opening celebration of the Nordic Museum. The Danish Embassy is launching an initiative to share Danish culture, ideas and innovation with communities around the U.S. The landmark museum is the largest in the United States to honor the legacy of immigrants from the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The original location was founded in 1980 in an old elementary school in the Ballard  neighborhood.
