The Way of St. James (15/82)
Door knocker embellished with a scallop shell on a door along the Rue de la Citadelle in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. The scallop shell is an important symbol of the Way of St. James and can be seen on posts and signs along the Camino to guide pilgrims along the way. It is often worn as a symbol to identify oneself as a pilgrim of the Camino de Santiago.
